My name is Katherine Boyle and I am the founder of Beyond the Uniform. I am also known as @theltsdaughter

I grew up in a law enforcement family and saw the positive and negative effects that the job can have on both police officers, and their families. Further, after meeting with many active and retired officers, it was repeatedly brought to my attention that they often struggled to connect with their children and after years of disconnection, realized that they didn't even know their own kids (and vice versa).

It is my mission to stop this. The relationship that I have with my father was imperative to who I am today and how I got to where I am. The connection that we shared as a family, because my dad was intentional about prioritizing us, shaped the trajectory of all of our lives and futures - including his own. My dad was the best father we could have asked for and an exceptional cop. You can be both and I am committed to sharing this message, sharing the stories of other law enforcement families, and teaching officers around the country (starting with Philadelphia) how and why they need to put themselves and their families first.
