Blue_Wives_Matter was founded 5 years ago to offer support to fallen officers spouse's, fiancee's and their children, regardless of cause of death. We found that there were support groups for line of duty death families and support groups for those affected by suicide but no support groups that included everyone affected by the loss of a fiancee or spouse (or a parent). Since our inception, we have supported over 200 families, which may not sound like many until you understand that Blue_Wives_Matter is run by just one police wife, Kristen Sweaza. 

Blue_Wives_Matter has an online support group with over 165 members and is growing everyday. When a widow searches for a support group, ours is the one that shows up 💙. We have a Patches of Honor program where, every month, we mail out law enforcement patches to the children of fallen LEO's as a reminder to them that neither they, nor their fallen parent, has been forgotten. This is one of the biggest worries of children of fallen officers. All of this is at no cost to the families. We also send out care packages when a new member joins the support group, again at no cost to the widow or widower. 

Blue_Wives_Matter has held several fundraisers for members in need, all with the diligent work and backing of Blue_Wives_Matter's founder, Kristen Sweaza. This year Blue_Wives_Matter was able to award several college scholarships to 2 deserving college students of fallen officers. Last year we gifted over 17 Christmas shopping trips to fallen officer's kids who tend to be forgotten, those aged 17 through 22, as well to a fallen firefighter's 4-yr old daughter and a fallen bear ranger's teenage son.

We have many other programs that we are very proud of but everything costs money, money we currently do not have. Our founder, Kristen, has been quite ill these past 9+ months, having survived emergency surgery and several hospital visits and stays, making fundraising difficult this year.
