In Memory of Sergeant Lee Wagner

On August 19th, 2026, following a sudden medical emergency, Sergeant Lee Wagner of the Montgomery Township (Pennsylvania) Police Department passed away at the age of 48.

Sergeant Wagner was raised in the Perkiomenville area of Pennsylvania and graduated from Perkiomen High School in 1996. In 1999, he proudly joined the United States Navy, where he served aboard the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier as an Aviation Electronics Technician.

Following his military service, Sergeant Wagner began his law enforcement career by attending and graduating from the Reading Police Academy in 2009. On January 29, 2010, he joined the Montgomery Township Police Department, beginning a career devoted to protecting and serving his community.

Sergeant Wagner was promoted to Corporal in 2017 and to Sergeant in 2018. Throughout his career, he earned numerous awards and commendations, including a Lifesaving Award and several Letters of Commendation. He served in the Professional Standards position and also took on the important responsibility of coordinating the department's Field Training Program.

Sergeant Wagner will be remembered not only for the badge he proudly wore, but also for the many lives he touched throughout a career dedicated to service, professionalism, and the protection of others. His commitment to his fellow officers, his department, and his community exemplified the highest ideals of law enforcement.

Above all, Sergeant Wagner was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife and four children, who were the center of his life and his greatest source of pride.

His legacy of service, dedication, and compassion will remain a lasting part of the Montgomery Township Police Department and the community he served.

In the wake of this loss, we are endeavoring to raise funds to ease the burden of Sergeant Wagner's family as they navigate this transition. Your generosity and support in spreading the word are respectfully requested.
