I’d like if you would take a moment to read about our nonprofit organization created to help your friends and colleagues, nurses. We are a group of nurses who have lived the weight this profession places on a person. We have experienced the moments when colleagues break down quietly after long shifts. We have carried home the losses, the difficult conversations, and the silence that follows when you feel you must hide how much it hurts. Many of us also know the emotional and physical strain of caring for patients in deep distress, and the heaviness that stays long after the shift ends.
These moments shape us. They stay with us. They influence how we show up for patients the next day.
We helped create Lavender Assist with the CAMP Foundation for this reason. It is a nurse-led, anonymous peer support network that gives every nurse a safe place to reach out for support before reaching a breaking point. No reporting. No tracing. Only real connection with someone who understands what it feels like to care until you break.
This initiative strengthens the work many organizations stand for, such as advocacy, education, and professional advancement by giving nurses immediate and confidential support that protects privacy, builds resilience, and helps them stay connected to their purpose.
We cannot do this alone. We ask for your partnership so every nurse has access to this lifeline.
