Two tragedies in two days
Their story
Recently, my family experienced two back-to-back tragedies that have fundamentally disrupted my ability to live independently:
1. Loss of Primary Support System: My husband of 41 years, Steven Sutton, unexpectedly passed away following a sudden medical emergency. He was my partner and my primary source of daily support at home.
2. Severe Medical Incapacitation: The very next day, I suffered a massive heart attack (STEMI) that required an emergency surgical procedure to insert a coronary stent to clear a 100% arterial blockage.
Due to the severity of this cardiac event, my physical capabilities are severely limited. I am currently experiencing significant chest discomfort, exhaustion, and physical frailty. My physicians have placed strict limitations on my daily activities, including restrictions on walking, standing for extended periods, navigating stairs, and lifting. Because of these functional impairments, I am legally incapacitated and completely unable to perform essential daily tasks—such as grocery shopping, meal preparation, managing medications, and general home maintenance—obviously I can't work, at least not for several months. My husband and I both received Social Security, and I worked part time (as he could not, had many health issues). Now 2 sources of income are gone. My goal is to try to go back to work in 6-8 months after cardiac rehabilitation, but need to survive in the meantime, hence my request for help. Anything will help, and God Bless you.
