Uncle Aubrey’s Educational foundation was established in October 2020 with the unfortunate demise of Officer Aubrey Travis Johnson, Jr., a member of the City of Miami Police Department. Officer Johnson’s End of Watch was October 1, 2020 due to a Line of Duty injury. As a result, the City of Miami posthumously promoted Aubrey to the rank of Major.

The foundation was formed to continue the legacy of Aubrey’s love for working with children. Aubrey cared unselfishly about the physical, behavioral and educational development of his nieces, nephews and the youth in South Florida’s communities.

On October 14, 2023, Uncle Aubrey’s Educational Foundation will observe the anniversary of the EOW of its namesake, by hosting the third Aubrey Travis Johnson Memorial Dinner. This event will inaugurate what will become the foundation’s signature fundraiser. All proceeds will support the foundations mission to provide community outreach, social and emotion support services, academic and computer assistance and training on basic life skills needed to help children evolve into self- assured, functional citizens in today’s society.
